Green Legacy 2021: Adorn Ethiopia

On 18th May, Prime Minister Abiy launched the 2021 edition of the Green Legacy Initiative, a tree-planting campaign aimed at curbing the effects of climate change and deforestation. As part of this green initiative to plant 6 billion trees all over the country, the Ethiopian Catholic Higher Learning Institute staff and students along with the Ethiopian Catholic Secretariat, Archdiocesan Catholic Secretariat, Vatican Embassy, and CMRS have planted trees in the Institute’s compound.
Today’s Green Legacy initiative has been commenced by the opening prayer of H.E. Cardinal Berhanyesus D. Suraphel, Chancellor of the institute, and a closing speech and prayer by H.E. Archbishop Antoine Camilleri, Pro-Chancellor of the Institute. Br. Carlos Gomez, President of the Institute has also addressed the stakeholders on the importance of the ongoing green initiative being carried out throughout the county, Ethiopia.
