Parents & Families Guide

You are an essential partner in your student's university journey. Here is everything you need to know about campus safety, tuition banking, academic oversight, and family visiting.

Peace of Mind

Campus Safety & Student Welfare

We understand that the safety, health, and wellbeing of your child is your paramount concern. ECUSTA maintains a secure, enclosed learning sanctuary.

24/7 Gated Security

Our Nefas Silk Lafto campus is fully enclosed. All pedestrian and vehicle entrances are monitored 24/7 by trained university security guards. Visitors must present identification and register at the main gate.

Residence Hall Security

On-campus female residences feature strictly controlled electronic access, dedicated matrons on duty 24 hours a day, and an enforced evening curfew to ensure safety and quiet rest.

Campus Health Support

The on-campus ECUSTA Health Clinic provides free general health check-ups and first-aid for students. We maintain protocol agreements for immediate referral and transport to tertiary hospitals when required.

Transparent Finances

Financial Planning & Tuition Banking

Budgeting for university education involves planning for tuition, books, medical equipment (stethoscope, lab coat), and local living expenses. ECUSTA maintains a transparent, strictly non-cash banking policy to protect families from payment discrepancies.

Official Bank Deposit Protocols

Tuition payments must be deposited directly into our verified university bank account:

Bank: Berhan Bank

Account Name: Ethiopian Catholic University - La Salle

  • Always write the Student's Full Name and ID Number clearly on the bank deposit slip.
  • Bring the original physical deposit slip to Finance to receive your official stamped university receipt.
  • Cash payments are never accepted on campus for security reasons.

Parents are warmly invited to visit students on campus and tour our facilities. Regular administrative visits are held Monday through Friday, while dormitory visits take place on weekends.

Academic Oversight & Privacy

We believe in partnering with parents while respecting your young adult's educational autonomy. If you are financing your student's education, you have the right to verify enrollment and academic progress.

Academic Standing: Minimum 2.00 CGPA required for good standing.

Joint Meetings: Parents may request consultations with Academic Advisors.

Attendance Monitoring: 80%+ mandatory attendance in all medical modules.

Common Inquiries

Frequently Asked Questions by Parents

Clear answers to the most common questions asked by mothers, fathers, and guardians.

In accordance with Ethiopian Higher Education student privacy regulations, official grade transcripts and semester reports are issued directly to the enrolled student. However, we encourage open family dialogue. If you contribute to your student’s tuition, you are entitled to verify their active enrollment and financial standing. For academic performance reviews, parents are welcome to request a joint consultation involving the student and their Academic Advisor.
